Can Microsoft Dethrone Apple With Surface?

Late entry of Microsoft into the tablet market means that the Redmond giants need the break the existing tablet market [long dominated by iPad, Galaxy Tab and Kindle]. Microsoft announced its entry into the tablet race by introducing Surface. Clearly they intend to make it their monopoly!

Surface will ship in two forms, one running the Windows 8 RT [Oct. 26, 2012] and the second one running the Windows 8 Pro [Jan. 2013]. Both these tablets have powerful specs that can be viewed here.

The Touch Cover

Windows has long been dominating the PC market and that is why many developers are showing interest in the Windows Store.
Surface will also come with a Touch Cover [or Type Cover] which is iPad's Smart-cover + a state-of-art keyboard fit in less than 9 mm.






The productivity that Microsoft offers [Office 2013 free with Surface RT] makes an entire "App Store" look like a joke.






Well if this is not enough, Surface RT will have a USB 2.0 and MicroSD port while the more powerful Surface Pro will have microSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort Video! Lets see what the iPad offers......... a 30 pin connector.

Last thing I would like to discuss is the price. Surface RT may be between 200-250$ while Pro will be priced alongside Intel Ultrabooks [700$ - 900$].
Microsoft sure does intend to ruin Apple on this one. The only thing apple can do is create magic out of its upcoming iPad.
