It seems that Microsoft’s Windows 8 is in the air. Prior to its launch, tech majors are rushing to release systems with the operating system. Tech major Sony has unveiled a range of Windows 8 operated laptop and ultrabook under its successful Vaio series in India.
Following is the list of Windows 8 Vaio devices unveiled, their features and its expected prices when it will be available in the market by the end of this month.
Vaio Duo 11 Ultrabook
The top-most model unveiled by Sony is made with hybrid form-factor and will sport touch-enabled displays. It will be powered by Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 8.
The Ultrabook will have a durable Surf Slider mechanism. This technology will help the user to switch smoothly between keyboard and tablet. It will boast an 11.6-inch display with a LCD display and a backlit keyboard.
Vaio Duo 11 Ultrabook will come with the latest generation of Intel Core processors, full functional I/O port connectivity and Sony’s Sheet Battery technology.
Price of the product is still not known.
Vaio E Series laptops
Sony unveiled E14P and E17 laptops. The former will have the touch screen features while the later will have a 17 inch screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080.
E Series laptops will come in 11 inch, 14 inch, and 15 inch variants.
The non-touch 11 inch, 14 inch, and 15 inch laptops will start at approximately USD 449.99, and the 17-inch model will start at USD 729.99. The E14P will be priced at approximately USD 689.99.
The 14 inch and 15 inch variants will come with backlit keyboards, Intel Core processors and a separate AMD Radeon graphics.
Vaio T Series laptops
Sony’s new T Series ultrabooks are made slightly thicker but have stylish looks than its predecessors. While T13 features a touch screen display, T14 will have a basic 14-inch screen.
Both the devices will have port connectivity options, built-in Blu-ray player and DVD-burner combo.
The T14 will be available at a starting price of approximately USD 669.99 while the T13 will start at USD 799.99.
Vaio S Series laptops
The new Vaio S Series laptops are made using magnesium, aluminum, and carbon fiber. S Series range will come in 13.3 inch and 15.5 inch standard and premium models.
The price range of S Series 13-inch will start at USD 799.99, and its premium counterpart will start at USD 1,199.99. The S Series 15-inch will cost about USD 849.99.
